Masarouna at Women Deliver

Masarouna was present in full force at Women Deliver 2023! We hosted an official side event in Kigali and hosted a virtual panel. As a young-centered program, we engaged 8 youth leaders from Masarouna, who made their voices heard at this critical space for SRHR advocacy.

Our official side event in Kigali was led by 4 youth leaders from the Masarouna project took the lead in planning and conducting the event. In a world cafe style, these young leaders shared their experiences and challenges advocating for SRHR. Present were around 40 other young activists, practitioners, and stakeholders from around the world. The Dutch Youth SRHR Ambassador, Jim Monkel, joined our session and gave closing remarks.

Masarouna also participated in the virtual conference with a panel of 4 youth leaders. The young people in this panel shared how they use innovative approaches to SRHR advocacy in MENA. Panelists shared their how they use music, creating safe spaces, advocacy and campaign training for people with disabilities, and using climate change as an entry point to talk about SRHR in communities where it is very difficult to talk about SRHR.
